Dog killed in ‘low speed’ collision at St. Albert car show

St. Albert RCMP are investigating a collision at a Thursday night show-and-shine that left two people injured and claimed the life of a dog.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. at the Rock’N August car show and show and music festival.

RCMP told CityNews a 1934 Ford Model 40B was traveling at a low speed when the driver lost control, running into a few people and ultimately killing a dog.

A 68-year-old man from Millet was issued a ticket for careless driving on the scene. Two people were treated for minor injuries.

The festival on Facebook said the “Rock’n August family is heartbroken and our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the family affected.”
