Edmonton police seek to identify suspect in Northlands Coliseum shooting

By News Staff

Edmonton police want the public’s help in identifying a man suspected in a shooting Monday Night.

Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area of 74 Street and 118 Avenue where two men were fighting.

Investigators say one of the two pulled out a BB gun and shot the other man in the face. The suspect then fled, and the injured man was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

In a statement, the EPS described the suspect as male, in his mid-20s, with long black hair and a beard. He was seen wearing a red colour long-sleeved shirt, black hat, a sleeveless denim vest with logos on it, black pants and shoes with only white laces in one of the shoes.

EPS Northeast Branch Const. James Henderson said, “While the weapon was determined to be an imitation firearm, it still resulted in serious injuries and had the potential to impact innocent bystanders. We are encouraging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact police.”
