Mounties in Wetaskiwin are looking for three suspects in relation to an armed robbery and theft of a 2000 Dodge Ram truck with silver rims.

The Wetaskiwin RCMP was dispatched to an armed robbery in the Town of Millet, south of Leduc on Monday around 11 p.m.

Police say three friends were leaving a pickleball court when one of them notice another person in his truck. The victim asked what the person was doing, and tried to stop them from stealing the vehicle, according to police.

That’s when the suspect allegedly pulled a knife, and two other suspects jumped out of a nearby truck, the RCMP said in a news release.

According to the RCMP, two of the suspects threatened the victims with a knife, and one of the suspects lifted his coat to show a gun. The three victims then retreated to the pickleball court, and the suspects fled in the victim’s truck.

The RCMP described the suspects as men in their early 20s wearing dark clothing.

Police say one had dark hair and was wearing a “shaggy” coat; the second was wearing baggy jeans and a long trench coat that went past his waist; the third had medium-length dark hair.

The suspects fled westbound with the victim’s truck, and the other vehicle involved was an early 2000s Chevrolet 2500 truck.

The Wetaskiwin RCMP are asking anyone with video footage or photos of the suspects or vehicles to contact 780-312-7200.
