Edmonton police looking for information regarding June shooting

Edmonton police are turning to the public in an effort to gather information regarding a vehicle linked to a shooting in broad daylight in June.

EPS says the shooting took place just before 8:30 p.m. on June 7, near 106 Street and 150 Avenue.

Reports indicate a 20-year-old man was sitting in an SUV when a blue Dodge Dakota truck from past him, and slowed down while doing so.

Moments later, the truck made a return pass by the SUV, and several shots were fired from the truck.

“A shooting like this in broad daylight within a residential neighbourhood is really concerning, and it’s a miracle that nobody was injured,” says Acting Det. Alex Dickson with the EPS Firearms Investigation Unit.

“We are appealing to the public for any information about the blue Dakota and its occupant(s) who were involved in a shooting. While we appreciate it’s been a month since the incident, we are confident someone out there knows the trucks origin and who may have been behind the shooting.”

EPS has released video footage of the incident. That can be viewed on their website.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
