The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) are seeking additional complainants in a police impersonation investigation.
In June, officials received information regarding a BMW X5 SUV having blue and red flashing lights mounted in the front of the vehicle being used to impersonate police.
“We are looking to speak with anyone who may have been stopped by this vehicle, believing it to be police” says Acting Det. Alex Dickson with the EPS Firearms Investigation Unit. “We believe that there are people who have been pulled over by this vehicle or witnessed it utilizing the flashing blue and red lights.”
Only police vehicles are allowed to use blue and red flashing lights. Anyone with information can contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377.
EPS has videos of vehicles that are supposed to have lights on their website.
