Overnight fire damages two homes in Southeast Edmonton

Two houses have sustained significant damage as a fire broke out just before midnight on Sunday in southeast Edmonton.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services stated that they were called to a blaze on 41st Street and 37th Avenue. Crews arrived to two homes fully involved and a second alarm fire was called at midnight. More firefighters were called to the scene.

The fire was called under control at 12:34 a.m. and out at 5:58 a.m., EFRS stated.
All occupants of the two homes were accounted for, and no major injuries were reported. However, one person was assessed by AHS at the scene as a precaution.

Investigators did not state what might have started the fire, however, ATCO was present at the scene and the fire is under investigation, said officials. The EPS was also called for crowd control.
