Motorcyclist killed in collision after losing control of bike

Edmonton police say a motorcyclist is dead following a collision Thursday night.

EPS says around 7 p.m., officers responded to reports that a motorcycle had hit a curb after making a turn at 41 Avenue and James Mowatt Trail.

After hitting the curb, the rider reportedly lost control of the motorcycle, at which point it crashed.

Paramedics responded to the scene and declared the motorcyclist dead.

Police say speed is not believed to have been a factor in the fatal collision.

If any has any information, they are asked to contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

This marks the fourth fatal motorcycle collision in Edmonton in June, and the second this week.
