Police investigating fatal crash involving pedestrian in Inglewood

Edmonton police are investigating a second fatal pedestrian-involved collision in the Inglewood area Monday morning.

EPS says around 9:30 a.m., an officer found a man lying in the street following a collision.

It is believed the pedestrian was crossing 124 Street at 112 Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle travelling south.

Paramedics arrived at the scene, and took the 58-year-old man to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke to officers.

Speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the collision.

The collision is the sixth fatal pedestrian-involved collision in Edmonton since the beginning of the year, and the second in a 24-hour period.

Police are asking if anyone has any information, to contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
