Man in hospital after stabbing in Parkdale neighbourhood

A man was sent to hospital after being stabbed during an argument in north Edmonton Wednesday evening. Police continue to investigate.

Edmonton police are looking for a man in connection to an assault that took place Wednesday evening.

In a statement to CityNews, police say officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon near 115 Avenue and 81 Street around 11 p.m.

EPS says the report indicated a man had been stabbed during a verbal dispute outside a home.

The man was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Through an investigation, police learned that the suspect had allegedly shot a pellet gun towards the man which led to the dispute.

Following the stabbing, the suspect reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle.

CityNews spoke to neighbours who said they were shocked by the confrontation.

“It’s always been quiet here it’s a safe neighbourhood. People watch out for each other,” said Ferlin Badger. “Just security for everybody. You know if they’re doing serious whatever they’re doing, eventually something is going to happen.”

Speaking to another resident, they say the home is always causing trouble, and it’s no surprise something like this happened.

Earlier today, as CityNews was talking to residents, a dog on the property was out running loose and the windows appeared to be covered all around. Those living nearby say if there is trouble in the area, they want the individuals removed.
