Homicide detectives say paramedics tried to save the injured 15-year-old near 137 Avenue and 184 Street, just south of St. Albert, but he died on the scene around 9:30 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The teen’s mother witnessed the attack, and while she is not ready to speak on camera, she told CityNews her son died a hero.
