Edmonton man facing 11 charges after guns, drugs found in car during traffic stop

Alberta RCMP has charged a 45-year-old man from Edmonton with 11 charges following a traffic violation along Highway 16 in March.

Mounties say around 3:30 p.m., on March 11, Alberta Sheriffs initiated a traffic stop along Highway 16 near Highway 60.

During the stop, officers noticed several weapons, including a gun, and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, a 45-year-old man was taken into custody, and Parkland RCMP was called in to assist with the investigation.

RCMP conducted a search of the vehicle, found and seized the following items:

Police have since charged 45-year-old Markus Busch with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, process of a crime, and various firearm-related charges.

Mounties also note Busch was on a 10-year firearms and ammunition prohibition.

He is expected to appear in court in Stony Plain on May 8.
