Man wanted on 12 outstanding warrants arrested by RCMP

Alberta RCMP have charged a man who was wanted on 12 outstanding warrants.

Mounties say on March 13, officers attended a home in Sherwood Park to arrest a man who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Police say while they were at the home, the man started a fire in a shop that was located on the property.

Not long after the fire started, the man surrendered to police. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

James Veinot since been arrested on those twelve outstanding warrants and charged with two additional counts of arson.

The 53-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on March 18.
