6 suspects wanted after 64-year-old beaten, robbed at Churchill LRT: police

Edmonton police are hoping to identify and locate suspects in connection with the alleged attack of a 64-year-old man at the Churchill LRT in February.

The Edmonton Police Service alleges on Feb. 24 around 5:30 a.m., the man was on the ground-level platform waiting for a train when he was approach by a man.

After the two spoke briefly, police say the male suspect knocked the 64-year-old to the ground and violently assaulted him. Five other suspects reportedly joined the attack and robbed him before fleeing.

The victim was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they have identified 35-year-old Travis Damian Houle as one of the suspects, and warrants have been issued for his arrest. He is facing charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with probation order.

EPS is seeking the public’s help in identifying the other five suspects. They include:

Suspect #1: A 20- to 25-year-old man, approximately six-feet tall, with a slim build, black hair with a light moustache. He was wearing a white with black ‘Playboy’ hat, black jacket, black jeans, red and black running shoes, carried a black/brown backpack and was allegedly carrying with a canister of pepper spray.

Suspect #2: A roughly 30-year-old man, about five-foot-eight with a slim build, dyed hair with blonde. He was wearing a black jacket, ripped blue jeans and black shoes, and was carrying an over-the-shoulder bag.

Suspect #3: A 30- to 40-year-old man, about five-foot-eight with a slim build, and dyed hair. He was wearing a black face mask and a black hat with a cannabis leaf on the front, a black and orange scarf, black jacket with a “Jordan” logo on the front, dark blue jeans, dark grey shoes and carried a grey backpack. He was riding a light grey bicycle.

Suspect #4: Medium build and height. They were wearing a black hat, white puffy jacket with a maroon/purple scarf, black pants, white running shoes with no laces and carrying a black backpack.

Suspect #5: A 25- to 30-year-old woman, medium height and medium build, with shoulder-length straight brown hair. She was wearing a brown sweater, teal baggy pants, white running shoes, and was carrying a black and white blanket or piece of clothing.
