AHS rules Edmonton drug house uninhabitable: ALERT

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) says a home where a quarter of a million worth of drugs was seized has been deemed uninhabitable by Alberta Health Services (AHS).

ALERT says on Feb. 29, their organized crime team searched three southwest Edmonton homes and two vehicles.

One of the homes — a condo in the Allard neighbourhood — was allegedly being used to process fentanyl.

During ALERT’s search, officers reportedly located and seized chemicals, buffing agents, and equipment used in the process of fentanyl conversion.

Additionally, officers also seized the following drugs, with an approximate street value of $350,000:

• 1,023 grams of fentanyl;
• 2,080 grams of cocaine;
• 3,000 grams of cocaine buffing agents;
• 130 grams of MDMA;
• $48,739 cash.

Following the search, AHS conducted a review of the condo, and ruled it uninhabitable.

“This is just another example of how fentanyl effects our community and how organized crime puts neighbours at risk. Drug dealers don’t care about safeguards and are profiting at the expense of our communities,” said Insp. Angela Kemp, ALERT Edmonton.

ALERT adds two vehicles were also seized.
