Edmonton police investigate pair of fatal shootings

Edmonton Police Services says it’s investigating a pair of suspicious deaths that occurred Monday evening.
Police say they were called to a home near 147 Avenue and 77 Street around 5:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
When police arrived, they reportedly found a 38-year-old man in medical distress.
Paramedics treated the man on scene before declaring him dead.
EPS says homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for Feb. 28.
Around 6 p.m., EPS says it responded to another report of a shooting near 106 Street and 74 Avenue.
Upon arrival, they say they searched the area but didn’t find anything suspicious.
Around 11:20 p.m., officers say they responded to another residence in the same area upon receiving a report of a death.
Upon arrival, officers say one man was found deceased.
Homicide detectives have taken over this investigation too, and an autopsy has yet to be scheduled.
EPS notes that at this time, the incidents are not believed to be connected.
