Edmonton emergency crews running simulated emergency Friday in Mill Woods

Edmonton emergency crews along with Edmonton Transit Services will be conducting a simulated emergency Friday morning.

The City of Edmonton says the sim will be conducted on the Valley Line Southeast at the Mill Woods Stop starting at 11 a.m.

During the sim, a car and train collision will be staged and reported to emergency services.

The City stresses that it will not be an actual emergency, and the sim is used to enhance emergency response procedures.

Anyone travelling near the Mill Woods Stop around the time of the sim is advised to follow the direction of emergency crews.

The City notes that there is the possibility for traffic delays due to the sim, however, it also notes that Valley Line LRT service will continue using the south platform.

The sim is expected to last between one and two hours.
