Man charged in connection to multi-vehicle collision near Edmonton

Parkland RCMP says a man has been charged following a two-vehicle collision on Feb. 11.
Mounties say around 10:02 p.m., on Feb. 11, officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision.
When officers arrived at the scene, they noticed one of the vehicles involved in the collision — a pick-up truck — had travelled further down the road following the collision, before coming to a stop.
The pick-up did sustain major front-end damage, but the driver was not injured.
Two people in the second vehicle — a small sedan — were seriously injured and taken to a hospital in Edmonton. One person sustained serious life-threatening injuries, while the other sustained serious injuries.
During the initial stages of the investigation, RCMP noted there were signs of intoxication from the driver of the pick-up truck, and he was taken into custody.
RCMP say charges, including two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, and two counts of failing to stop after a collision causing bodily harm are pending against a 40-year-old from Gibbons, Alta.
He is set to appear in court on March 27.
Mounties note the investigation is still ongoing.
