19-year-old killed after striking pillar on Anthony Henday: police

Edmonton police say a 19-year-old man was killed after his vehicle struck a pillar on Anthony Henday Drive early Saturday morning.

The Edmonton Police Service says an officer was driving south on Anthony Henday around 12:35 a.m. when he can across the vehicle under the Highway 14 exit bridge.

The driver was declared dead on scene. Police say there were no occupants in the vehicle.

Investigators do not believe the collision was a criminal incident. Officers with the major collisions section are continuing to investigate.
