Some Edmontonians may have woken up Tuesday morning to find out that they lost power overnight.
Edmonton Police Service says the power loss was due to a single-vehicle collision that occurred around 2 a.m. at 99 Street and 69 Avenue.
EPS says a 2019 Infinity was travelling north on 99 Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle, mounting the east sidewalk, hitting a fence and shearing off a wooden power pole.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Speed and impairment are believed to be factors in the collision.
EPCOR was notified and is working to replace the power pole and restore power to the community.
