Extreme cold snap officially over

Edmonton’s cold snap is officially over according to Environment Canada.

Environment Canada lifted the extreme weather warning Friday afternoon for Edmonton and all surrounding communities, as our overnight lows are expected to be a balmy -18C.

Temperatures are also expected to be above seasonal by mid-week.

Last weekend’s polar vortex saw three days of record-breaking cold, with temperatures reaching -45 C at the airport.
