Apparent water main break at West Edmonton Mall

Firefighters were called to the West Edmonton Mall early Tuesday morning for what’s believed to be a water main break.

Edmonton Fire tells CityNews crews arrived around 4:24 a.m. They cleared the scene by 4:51 a.m.

The roof on the ground floor parkade below the Simons entrance, near the Bingo Hall, was damaged.

By noon Tuesday, some debris had been moved away, and the escalator leading from the ground floor of the parkade to Simons was closed off.
