Calgary man wanted on 22 warrants arrested in Edmonton

Calgary police say a man wanted Canada-wide on 22 offences, including a September 2021 kidnapping and robbery, was arrested in Edmonton on New Year’s Day.

Agout Atak Agout is set to appear in court on Friday, Jan. 5.

The 23-year-old is charged with several crimes, including kidnapping, robbery, extortion, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and multiple firearms offences.

Calgary police are thanking authorities in Edmonton for finding and arresting Agout.

Investigators continue to search for 22-year-old Eyuel Tamrat and 21-year-old Bol Atak Agout in connection to a kidnapping and robbery in Calgary more than two years ago.

Police say in that incident, a woman was allegedly abducted and robbed when she left her home to meet a friend.

During the incident, the three armed men are said to have entered the woman’s vehicle and confined her to the back seat.

Police add she was driven around the city for several hours while the men stole various items belonging to her, including to vehicle.

Investigators say she suffered minor injuries during the robbery.

Tamrat, who is also known as “$light”, is 5’10″ tall, 180 pounds, with a medium build, black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on both arms.

Bol Agout, also known as “Boomz”, is described as 6’2″ tall, 230 pounds, with a heavy build, black hair and brown eyes.
