EPS looking to identify three suspects in alleged sexual assault

Edmonton police are turning to the public to help with an investigation of an alleged sexual assault that occurred near an encampment near Rowland Road and 95 Street.

EPS says around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, a man was walking along Rowland Road near 95 Street.

Police say as he got close to the encampment, he was approached by an unknown man looking for help.

Both men went into bushes next to a footpath where the road bends, when two more men appeared, forced the complainant to the ground, and sexually assaulted him.

Police say the man was able to fight off the three suspects and fled the area.

EPS notes there are no descriptions available at this time. However, investigators are looking to talk with anyone who has dashcam footage or who may have seen something in the area around 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
