Sherwood Park stabbing suspect arrested in Edmonton: RCMP

By News Staff

A man who was wanted on an aggravated assault charge in connection with a stabbing in Sherwood Park last week was arrested in Edmonton.

On Saturday morning, Strathcona County RCMP said Guy Joseph Menard had been located and arrested in Alberta’s capital.

Police did not specify when they took Menard into custody.

Mounties described the accused as “armed and dangerous” when they turned to the public for help Wednesday in locating the 32-year-old.

The alleged stabbing took place in a Sherwood Park apartment Dec. 5. Officers arrived to find a 28-year-old woman with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Menard was charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a probation order.
