RCMP searching for man considered armed and dangerous, linked to Sherwood Park stabbing

RCMP in Sherwood Park are looking for a man who is believed to be armed and dangerous, following a stabbing last week.

Strathcona County RCMP says around 8:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment on Cloverbar Road in Sherwood Park.

When they arrived, crews tended to a 28-year-old woman who was suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Through an investigation, Mounties were able to identify a suspect — 32-year-old Guy Jeseph Menard — who is believed to be involved.

RCMP says Menard has been charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with a probation order, but he remains at large.

Mounties have described Menard as having a light complexion, brown hair, and brown eyes with a large monster tattoo on his neck.

Police say Menard is considered armed and dangerous, and are urging the public not to approach him.

If anyone sees Menard, Mounties ask they call 911 or their local police agency.
