EPS lay charges after fatal hit-and-run in May

Edmonton police have charged a 27-year-old man in connection to a fatal hit-and-run earlier this year.

EPS says just after 2:30 a.m. on May 12 officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run near Jasper Avenue and 115 Street.

The report indicated that a 62-year-old man was crossing Jasper Avenue at 115 Street when he was hit by a light-colored four-door sedan.

Police say the driver of the sedan left the scene following the collision.

EMS attended to the incident, taking the 62-year-old to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

On Nov. 28, EPS took a 27-year-old into custody in connection to the hit-and-run, and he has since been charged with failing to stop after an accident resulting in death.
