St. Albert resident killed in fatal collision north of Edmonton: RCMP

RCMP says one person is dead following a collision on Highway 28, just north of Edmonton Monday morning.

Mounties from Morinville responded to a report of a collision around 7:30 a.m., along the highway near Township Road 552.

When they arrived, emergency crews tended to a 30-year-old from St. Albert, who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the collision. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.

RCMP says the driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Through early stages of the investigation, it is believed that poor road conditions are a contributing factor in the collision.
