EPS looking for SUV driver following fatal hit-and-run

Edmonton police say a 31-year-old man cyclist died following a hit-and-run Friday afternoon.

EPS responded to reports of the hit-and-run around noon, near 156 Street and 107 Avenue.

The report indicated that a cyclist was hit by a larger model black Lincoln SUV when the vehicle entered the parking lot of a business on the northeast corner of 156 Street and 107 Avenue.

It is believed that the SUV was travelling south in an alley behind the business before it turned into the parking lot, where it hit the cyclist.

Following the collision, the SUV left the scene through the same alley.

Paramedics took the cyclist to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police are asking if anyone has any information, or was in the area of 152 Street to 156 Street and 107 Avenue to 110 Avenue, between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m., to contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
