Sask. truck driver charged with impaired driving after trying to reverse semi on Highway 60

Parkland RCMP has charged a semi-truck driver for impaired driving after receiving several reports of dangerous driving from other motorists.

Mounties say on Nov. 3, officers responded to Highway 60 near Highway 627 — five km west of Edmonton — after multiple complaints were received regarding how a semi-truck was being operated.

The final report indicated that the driver of the semi-truck was attempting to reverse the semi on Highway 60.

When officers arrived they noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment consistent with alcohol consumption, and he was immediately taken into custody.

RCMP have since charged the man from Broadview, Saskatchewan with impaired driving and driving while over 80 mg, and he is expected to appear in court on Dec. 20.
