Woman in life-threatening condition after car crashes into tree on Groat Road: EPS

By News Staff

A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash on Groat Road Saturday morning, according to police.

The Edmonton Police Service says the 43-year-old woman was in the back seat of a Mini Cooper when it crashed into a tree around 10 a.m.

The driver, a 43-year-old man, and a four-year-old child who was in a car seat in the back seat suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the vehicle was driving northbound on Groat Road, “just passing 115 Avenue toward the bend in the road, when it subsequently collided with a tree on the east curb.”

Edmonton police don’t believe speed nor alcohol were factors.

EPS’s major collision unit is investigating.
