Work continues on Whitemud overpass repair from excavator collision

By CityNews Staff

Work is still underway on the Whitemud overpass on the east leg of the Henday where a 22-year-old driver of a semi-truck carrying an excavator drove into the overpass in June.

Crews could be seen Wednesday working to install a frame support system.

There’s no official word yet on the extent of damages.

A spokesperson for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors says the assessment and repair planning is still on-going, and that until the assessment is complete and “a repair option has been selected,” they cannot confirm the timing of the work or whether the full cost of repairs will run into the millions.
