Woman in hospital after hit-and-run in central Edmonton, police looking for driver

Edmonton police are looking for a silver car that is believed to be linked to a hit-and-run Thursday evening.

The EPS says just after 9 p.m. officers responded to 96 Street and 115 Avenue after receiving a report that a woman who was skateboarding was hit by a car as she crossed 115 Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 24-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital by EMS and is in critical but stable condition.

The vehicle in the hit-and-run has been described as silver with no description of the driver provided by police.

Police are asking if anyone was near 93 Street and 95 Street, and 115 Avenue and 111 Avenue, between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, or you may have any information to contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
