Vehicle crashes into south Edmonton home; 4-year-old girl seriously injured

By News Staff

Edmonton police say a four-year-old girl was seriously injured as a vehicle crashed into a south Edmonton home Tuesday morning.

The Edmonton Police Service says it happened at 75 Street and 98 Avenue shortly before 8 a.m.

Officers allege the driver “took evasive action to avoid colliding with a vehicle” at the intersection, lost control of the vehicle then crashed into the home.

Police say the driver struck the four-year-old child before crashing into the home.

The girl “had just been dropped off at a nearby residence,” police said in a news release.

The girl suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. She was taken to hospital by EMS.

The EPS major collisions investigations section is investigating.

Police say the driver of the vehicle is fully cooperating.
