Homicide police investigating man’s death near Whyte Avenue

Edmonton police say a man’s death early Saturday morning near Whyte Avenue is considered “suspicious.”

The Edmonton Police Service says officers responded to a weapons complaint at Whyte and 101 Street around 3:15 a.m.

They arrived to find a man and a woman with serious injuries, they say.

The man died of his injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The 33-year-old woman was taken to hospital; she was in stable condition as of Saturday evening.

The EPS homicide division is investigating.

Investigators are looking for security or dash camera footage from the area between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m.
