Edmonton police arrest 2 after gun report prompts shelter-in-place

Edmonton police say two people have been arrested after reports of a man with a gun prompted a shelter-in-place notice Monday.

The directive for the area of 48 Street and 28 Avenue is no longer in place.

According to the EPS, “two male suspects were taken into custody” at a home around 5 p.m. Police add two guns were seized.

Initially, police issued a statement just after 4 p.m. Monday, saying a suspect was witnessed holding a long gun in the Mill Wood area.

Edmonton police’s tactical unit, along with other police officers, were dispatched to look for the suspect.

Police say no further information is currently available, adding an investigation is underway.
