Body found in burning car in northeast Edmonton

Edmonton police are investigating a suspicious death after they say a man was found dead inside a burning vehicle in the city’s northeast.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says just after midnight, officers were called to assist Edmonton Fire Rescue Services. Firefighters say once the vehicle was extinguished they found the body inside.

The EPS’ homicide unit has since taken over the investigation and says an autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 8.
