EPS recover over $400k in McDougall Community drug bust

Edmonton police have charged two people in connection to a six-month drug investigation.

EPS says officers began their investigation in the McDougall Community in November. The investigation led to search warrants being executed on two homes and a vehicle in April, which resulted in over $400,000 in drugs being seized.

Police says the following were seized in the searches:

  • 3.90 kgs of methamphetamine (roughly worth $390,000);
  • 459.43 gms of buffing agent (roughly worth $2,500);
  • 95.71 gms of cocaine (roughly worth $9,500);
  • 6.14 gms of pre-packaged fentanyl (roughly worth $1,200);
  • 29 gms of pre-packaged methamphetamine (roughly worth $2,900);
  • 172 pills of various controlled drugs (roughly worth $4,230);
  • Approximately 59,250 Pokemon, sports, and other collectible cards (roughly worth $34,000);
  • Credit card pressing machine with associated software and;
  • a large quantity of blank credit cards.

Two people in their 40s were charged with a combined 11 drug-related offences.

EPS also noted that the investigation uncovered a trend of collectible cards being used as currency during a drug trade.
