Londonderry Mall briefly closed due to bear spray incident

Londonderry Mall closed briefly Tuesday afternoon after a pepper spray incident.

Edmonton police confirmed to CityNews that a youth deployed bear spray in the mall.

The suspect was taken into custody by mall security, and charges are pending.

Londonderry Mall announced an indefinite closure on social media. A retailer confirmed they received a notice saying that pepper spray incidents were forcing the closure of the mall.

Stores were allowed to re-open within about half an hour of being told to shut down.
