Pride crosswalk vandalized in Leduc

Mounties in Leduc are asking for assistance to identify those involved in the vandalism to the Pride crosswalk installed at 50 Street and 47 Avenue.

The RCMP says on June 24, they were notified that black tire marks were left across the Pride crosswalk.

The crosswalk was painted last week as a symbol of inclusion in the city.

The RCMP says at this time they can not confirm the motives behind the vandalism. However, they do note that the act demonstrates a hateful and non-tolerated attitude towards the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RCMP at 780-980-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
