21-year-old woman dead after truck goes wrong way on Capilano Bridge: police
Police say a 21-year-old woman was killed and three others were injured, including two critically, when a pickup truck going the wrong way on a southeast Edmonton bridge crashed into another vehicle.
The Edmonton Police Service says speed and impairment were factors in the two-vehicle collision on the Capilano Bridge on Wayne Gretzky Drive Sunday around 3 a.m.
Investigators say a Dodge Ram was travelling northbound in the southbound lanes “at a high rate of speed.” They say the truck nearly collided with an EPS patrol vehicle that was going southbound before striking an Audi Q5 that was behind the cruiser.
