18 fires remain out of control across Alberta

While Calgary and parts of southern Alberta are expecting rain, northern areas of the province continue to be hot and dry.
As of Tuesday evening, there are 64 active wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of the province.
Of those, wildfire officials have listed 18 as out of control, 19 as held, and 27 as under control.
On May 28, several new wildfires emerged near Fort McMurray.
An evacuation alert is in effect for the Hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, Mikisew First Nation (Allison Bay, Dog Head and Devils Gate), and Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation.
In addition, five evacuation orders are in place across the province, with three Alberta Emergency Alerts.
In total 3,501 Albertans are currently displaced from their homes and many communities also remain affected by poor air quality.
Roughly 2,600 individuals are working on wildfires, with support from other agencies across Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as the Canadian Armed Forces.
