“In eight of the 12 shootings, there was the potential for innocent bystanders, including children, to be harmed,” said EPS in a statement.

While a dozen shootings are being actively investigated, the EPS says the number of shootings was 40 per cent lower than April 2022.

Despite that, shootings for 2023 have increased by 11 per cent. To date, 57 shootings have been reported.
