By News Staff

Edmonton police say they are looking for a suspect following the alleged assault of a store employee during a robbery attempt in February.

The Edmonton Police Service says the aggravated assault happened at a southwest Edmonton business – at 109 Street and 23 Avenue – on Feb. 19.

Police allege a man entered a store and attempted to steal items. A staff member was reportedly assaulted when he asked the man to leave.

EPS says the employee suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated in hospital and has since been released.

Officers are hoping the public can help identify the suspect.

He is described as five-foot-10, with long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail. At the time of the alleged incident, he was wearing black pants, a blue jacket and Nike running shoes.
