LA King fans are stepping up for a young Edmonton Oilers fan and cancer patient.
Ten-year-old Cecily Eklund was gifted a trip to see her team play Game 3 in Los Angeles.
However, Oilers forward Evander Kane shared that the girl had been harassed and spat on for wearing her Edmonton jersey, something the family confirmed in a social media post.

However, Eklund has seen a sharp uptick in her fundraising efforts for the Ben Stelter Foundation since then.
More than $50,000 has been raised. Many coming in from Kings fans, with many apologizing for what Eklund endured.
The Kings also offered to fly Eklund’s family out for Game 6 on Saturday, however, they had to decline as Cecily fell ill.
Thank you @LAKings for offering to bring Cecily back for game 6. Unfortunately Cecily is not feeling well, and is unable to travel. However her heart is full thanks to LA Kings fans and @EdmontonOilers fans coming together helping her raise over $22,000 in the past 2 days. pic.twitter.com/WuihFCNzPe
