Man convicted of indecent acts re-arrested 4 days after release from prison: EPS

A man convicted of committing indecent acts at two Edmonton post-secondary campuses was arrested four days after being released from prison, police say.

The Edmonton Police Service says 28-year-old David Adams has reoffended after serving jail time for two counts of indecent act.

Adams was charged in February for masturbating in a vehicle while following female students on campus at the University of Alberta and NAIT.

He was released from jail Friday.

Edmonton police say since then, “Adams has approached female youths, reportedly attempting to talk to them while following them in the same silver/grey BMW X1 connected to his previous offences.”

The suspect was arrested Tuesday – four days after his release – and charged with criminal harassment and a breach. He is now subject to a court order that prohibits him from attending either campus. He must also report to a probation officer.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have had a similar interaction with the accused to contact EPS.

Adams drives a silver/grey 2012 BMW X1 SUV with Alberta license plate CMR 2328.

“The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform members of the community of Adams’ release,” police said in a news release.
