Police seek alleged getaway driver in 2021 south Edmonton restaurant shooting

Police have issued multiple arrest warrants in relation to a “targeted” shooting at a south Edmonton restaurant in October 2021.

The Edmonton Police Service alleges 26-year-old Harsh Jindal was the getaway driver involved in that shooting.

Police say the shooting occurred Oct. 8 around 8:20 p.m.

A family was having dinner at a restaurant in a commercial complex at 12 Avenue and 101 Street SW.

Surveillance video shows a suspect walking up to a restaurant and firing through a window, forcing the family to dive out of the way of gunfire.

A male victim was taken to hospital with non‐life‐threatening injuries. Other family members, including children, staff and restaurant patrons were not injured.

The suspect fled the scene on foot before getting into an SUV driven by a second suspect.

Police believe that second suspect is Jindal. A total of 17 warrants have been issued for his arrest, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharging a prohibited or restricted firearm with intent to endanger life.

Investigators believe he is armed and dangerous. Police say he is known to frequent Edmonton and Grande Prairie.
