Edmonton police say a man is dead following an altercation downtown on Friday afternoon.

Officers reportedly responded to multiple reports of a disturbance at Jasper Avenue and 100 Street shortly before 1 p.m.

Police say they arrived to find an injured, unresponsive man. He was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead. An autopsy has not been scheduled yet.
