Edmonton Elks, city ink 5-year deal for Commonwealth Stadium

By News Staff

The Edmonton Elks have inked a new five-year deal for Commonwealth Stadium with the city.

The agreement covers things like license fees, advertising, concession and ticket surcharges.

It also includes the City of Edmonton waiving the licence fee waiver for the next two years to help the team deal with its red ink.

The Elks confirmed they have lost $18 million over the past four years.

The deal will still see about $5 million flow into city coffers.
