This year marks one of Alberta’s deadliest flu seasons to date

It’s now one of the deadliest flu seasons on record in Alberta.
3 more deaths this past week brings the seasonal total to 115. That’s the highest since at least 2009-2010.
There were 114 flu deaths in 2014-2015.

However, the overall numbers remain sharply in decline compared to the first months of the flu season.
There were just 43 lab-confirmed cases reported last week and 7 hospitalizations – of which 1 was admitted to the ICU.
