Loblaws ends use of plastic bags in their stores

By News Staff

Plastic bags have checked out permanently at Loblaws stores.

The company that owns Superstore among others is removing the single-use option for customers. They’re now encouraging people to bring reusable bags when shopping.

Loblaws says, their efforts to reduce single-use plastics have already resulted in 13 billion fewer bags winding up in landfills.

Canada banned the import and production of single-use plastics such as bags last year. Stores will no longer be able to sell them as of this upcoming December.
